Hey! I’m Michelle and I want to be your doula.
I’m here to help you through this time of transformation by giving you a compassionate shoulder to lean on, trusted teacher when you want resources, and comforting presence when you need it most.
I provide evidenced-based support so expecting parents can make intuitive and informed decisions about their care. My doula practice is focused on developing mindfulness, self-advocacy and safe space for your empowered entry into parenthood.
I am honored to have supported LGBTQ+ families, single parents, VBAC clients, homebirth, inductions, unmedicated hospital births, and planned cesareans.
doula services
I provide emotional, physical, and educational support to growing families, especially during pregnancy, at birth, and throughout the postpartum period. We’ll work together to help your family feel empowered during this transition to parenthood.
I am committed to compassionate care for my clients and practice inclusive, body-positive, and LGBTQ+ affirming doula services.
about me
Raised in Buffalo, NY, I’ve called New York City home since 2011. Before becoming a doula, I studied Comparative Literature at Hamilton College and NYU, followed by a career at high-growth startups where I’ve built a reputation as a caring, resourceful, and organized team player.
When I’m not supporting birthing families in-person, I’m helping them as Head of Operations at Expectful, a meditation and sleep app for growing families.
I live in Brooklyn with my wife and two rescue dogs, Ginger and Honey.

testimonials
“Michelle was the most incredible birth partner and doula I could have hoped for. I couldn’t be more thankful to her for how she stepped up for me. If you want a doula that is calm under the most intense pressure and a tireless advocate for you always, hire her. Like, right now. Do it. You can’t go wrong.”
“As soon as Michelle arrived, she sprung into action and used her uncanny intuition to provide emotional and physical support when we didn’t have the capacity to think clearly or communicate our needs. She was able to time contractions and communicate with our midwives to help us lay out the best strategy for heading to the hospital. She was extremely present and involved, but still gave us the intimate space and privacy to experience these special moments together as partners.”
“I delivered my baby at home. Michelle was the first one to arrive and supported me in a physical and psychological way that I could ever imagine. In every single contraction, she was right there with me, with a warm touch, a comforting hug, water, food, moving around, changing positions. She was my rock, my support, and she was so strong throughout the entire process. I couldn’t be more thankful to have her with me. We’re so lucky that the universe brought us together.”
“I was worried about how virtual support would work, but throughout the 30+ hour labor Michelle was right alongside us (via video chat). We cannot recommend her enough! Feel confident that you are in supportive capable hands.”
“Michelle is amazing: very supportive, responsible, professional, punctual and caring. She was absolutely great with our newborn baby. She is just wonderful and I highly recommend her!”
“During the labor, Michelle helped me to navigate my options at the hospital when the staff offered certain interventions. Because of Michelle’s support, I avoided a chemically-induced labor, had my baby with minimal interventions, and completely drug-free.”

Thanks for your interest in working together. My calendar (and heart) is full for 2021 and I am taking a pause on interviewing with new clients at this time.
